The Web3, AI and Metaverse Legal and Business Podcast

Oct 16, 2017

Haben Girma is the first deaf-blind person to graduate from Harvard Law School, and a leading advocate for equal opportunities for people with disabilities.

Several United States Presidents have praised Haben for her work and President Obama named her a White House Champion of Change. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had this to say about Haben:

“I wish to take this opportunity, as well, to recognize you for your lifelong advocacy for people with disabilities, especially for the deaf-blind community. As a teacher and Prime Minister, I am particularly grateful for your work to ensure that students with disabilities have access to the tools they need to thrive at school and beyond. When our society is inclusive, we are all better off.”

While Haben is busy traveling around the world consulting and public speaking and teaching clients the benefits of fully accessible products and services, today, she’s took a break from her travels and is joining us from San Francisco for this chat.

On a side note, we did the interview like most podcasts. The only difference was that Haben had an interpreter sharing my questions and comments with her through a special brail assisted device. Understanding that there are more than 1B disabled people worldwide, it’s important to appreciate how technology can bring us together regardless of where we are or what our disability is.
